Liposuction

Liposuction is a surgical procedure that aims to remove fat from selected areas of the body.

Fat is usually removed from the abdomen, thighs, arms, buttocks and hips.

The best candidates for Liposuction (or Liposculpture) are people of normal weight with elastic skin who have local fat in certain areas of their body. Without being directly related, it has been clinically observed that a successful Liposuction can also have excellent results in reducing local cellulite.

Liposuction is not an alternative to diet or exercise and is not indicated for the treatment of obesity. It is also not a method of weight loss, although it has been observed that after Liposuction, the person regains their self-confidence and strengthens their will to follow a balanced diet.

Therefore, often after Liposuction, there is a gradual weight loss if the person is overweight. Ideally, it is applied to healthy people with weight close to normal and a problem of "local fat" that does not respond to attempts to lose it by other methods.

Classical Liposuction can be performed under general anesthesia (mainly in large liposuctions) or under local anesthesia (tumescent liposuction - mainly in small and medium liposuctions), during which the adipose tissue is filtered with very dilute local solutions. The plastic surgeon then makes a small incision through which a cannula passes. With the help of the cannula, the fat cells are detached and aspirated, ending up in a transparent container, the desired amount of fat is aspirated, while the holes close on their own, without sutures and scarring. After the Liposuction procedure, it is necessary to use a special, depending on the area, corset in order to avoid loosening skin.

The results of "classic" Liposculpture are usually visible after the operation. Of course, the appearance of the area in which it was applied is constantly improving for several weeks, even 2-3 months later, as the swelling subsides.

The most important thing is that its results are permanent. This is because destroying fat cells in the area reduces their total number. Of course, it is recommended to follow a balanced diet and gentle exercise in order to maintain a normal weight. If the body weight increases slightly after Liposuction, the excess fat will be distributed evenly throughout the rest of the body, while the area that has undergone Liposuction will not be affected.

COST

The price of Liposuction varies depending on the problem faced by each patient, the duration and difficulty of the operation. Special package prices apply with the combination of more than one area.
